We get to London on Monday with a one night layover before heading to Paris. We arrived in London at 1:00, went through customs/passport control and checked into our our hotel (near the Heathrow airport).
After a 10 hour flight we wanted to freshen up before taking the tube to the City. In London we didn't ge much time to do much... walked around Leichester Square, ate dinner at a pub and then caught the 8:00 performance of Monty Python's Spamalot at the Palace Theatre.
After the show we walked around some more, saw Picadilly Circus, had some coffee at Cafe Nero and then took the tube back to the hotel.
Tuesday, June 24
We woke up at 7:00 am and had breakfast with my dear friend Jacqui at the hotel, before heading to Paris. Jacqu dropped us off at the tube, which we took to get to the Eurostar Chunnel (at Kings Cross/ Pancras station) to get to Paris. The trip took about 2 hours, and we traveled in 1st class, which was very nice.
Here is Amanda and me sitting in our "Chunnel" seats and with what's left of our lunch. Lunch was not bad, and we also had a snack and drinks as part of our fare.
